Kongfu
This class is run by a team of instructors from MALEE’S SCHOOL OF TAI CHI & KUNG FU. The students are taught contemporary Kongfu with its dazzling speed, jump kicks, and tumbling. This is a beginner’s class that gives a fun workout while also laying the foundation for future advancement in kongfu.
Master Malee Khow is the president of the USA National Tai Chi Chuan Federation, vice-president of the USA Wushu-Kungfu Federation (USAWKF), and president and head instructor of Malee’s School of Tai Chi & Kung Fu (founded in 1994). She is an internationally certified wushu instructor and judge. She has served as the kung fu class instructor for the Chinese language school (1990-2006, 2012-2013, and 2016-present), tai chi instructor for the Manchester Senior Center (1990-present), tai chi teacher for Manchester Community College (1993-present), tai chi and kung fu teacher for Eastern Connecticut State University (2000-present).
Since 1999 she and her school have organized six New England International Chinese Martial Arts Championships, several USAWKF National Championships and national wushu team trials, and three USA Tai Chi Champion Cups. Beginning in 2005, she has invited wushu experts from China many times to train U.S. wushu coaches and judges.
From 2007 to 2014, Master Khow served as the U.S. Team Manager nine times, representing the U.S. at world wushu competitions, including: Beijing, China; Sichuan, China; Indonesia; Singapore; Macau, China; Malaysia; Brazil; and Canada.
Master Khow began learning wushu at a young age. From 1985 to 1989 she was the wushu champion of Thailand for 5 successive years. She then immigrated to the U.S. in 1989. She competed at many world-level wushu compeittions, winning 14 grand champion trophies and many gold medals. Over the years, her students have won hundreds of medals in national and international competition. Currently her school instructors include two internationally certified wushu judges as well as six nationally certified wushu instructors and judges.

Lien LaBella is a teacher for the Chinese Language School kung fu class. She is an instructor at Malee’s School of Tai Chi & Kung Fu. She has competed at two international competitions in the U.S., winning six gold medals.
Children’s Wushu Class (11 am to 12 noon)
Level 1: Long Fist basics: Hand techniques, stances, kicks, 6 wushu exercises and 3 stance form.
Level 2: Review level 1 materials. Foundation Form, 5 stance form. Usage, stability, and strength training for horse and bow stances. Elementary self-defense training.
Adult wushu class (9:45-10:45 am): Long Fist Basics: Hand forms, stances and footwork, kicking. Long fist forms and self-defense
许玛丽老师是美国全国太极拳总会会长、美国国家武术总会副会长、美国玛丽太极功夫学校校长兼总教练(1994年成立至今)、国际武术教练员及裁判员、康州华社中文学校功夫班老师(1990年至2006年,2012-2013年,2016年至今)、康州孟切斯特老人院太极老师(1990年至今)、孟切斯特社交大学MCC太极老师(1993年至今)、康州政府大学ECSU太极功夫老师 (2000年至今)。自1999年至今许老师与她的玛丽太极功夫学校已主办了六届美国新英格兰国际武术锦标赛并多次主办全美国家武术锦标赛及国家武术代表队选拔赛、三届全美国太极拳冠军杯。自2005年开始多次邀请中国武术专家在全美培训国家武术教练员裁判员。2007年至2014年许老师共九次担任美国国家武术代表队的总领队参加各届的世界武术锦标赛,去过的国家:中国北京、四川、印度尼西亞、新加坡、澳门、马来四亚、巴西、加拿大等。
许老师自幼学武术,自1985-1989年是泰国蝉联五届武术冠军,(1989年底移民来美)参加多次的各种国际武术比赛也共获14座冠军奖杯及多枚奖牌。许老师教导的学生们多年来参加多次囯内国际的武术比赛也获得几百块金、银、铜奖牌,目前许老师在她的学校已培养出有国际武术裁判两位,国家级武术教练员裁判员有六位。
Lien Labella 中文学校功夫班老师
Lien是美国玛丽太极功夫学校的教练, 跟随许玛丽老师学拳多年,曾经参加两次国内国际武术比赛获得六面金牌的佳绩。
小孩的武术课程:(11-12:00noon)
第一级:长拳基本功:手法、步法、腿法、武术操六个动作以及教套路三步拳。
第二级:复习第一级的课程后教基础拳、五步拳两个套路、并教导怎样练好步法中的马步和弓步,让腿脚部的力量更稳,更扎实。以及初步的自卫术等。
成人武术课程:(9:45-10:45am)
长拳的基本功:手形、步行,腿法、踢法、身法、长拳套路及防身术等。
